A Legacy That Continues to Guide

On February 22, 2017, the world lost Srinivas "Srinu" Kuchibhotla, a brilliant engineer, devoted husband, and cherished friend whose kindness and humility touched everyone he met.

Srinu came to the United States with aspirations for education, career growth, and opportunity. Like many who pursue higher education, he saw learning as a pathway to building a meaningful life and contributing positively to society.

“His name, Srinivas, means ‘lighthouse’ — a symbol of guidance and light.”

Inspired by that meaning, the Lighthouse Legacy Scholarship continues Srinu’s spirit by supporting students who demonstrate leadership, perseverance, and a commitment to building meaningful futures through education.

Through this scholarship, Forever Welcome aims to invest in students working to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

Scholarship Details

Award Information

  • Five scholarships of $1,000 each awarded annually
  • One-time, non-renewable award
  • Funds paid directly to the educational institution
  • For tuition, fees, books, or required educational materials

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student (Sophomore–Senior)
  • Community college student, or trade/technical school student
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Full-time enrollment
  • Attending an accredited U.S. institution

Priority Consideration

  • Students from immigrant backgrounds
  • First-generation college students
  • Economic hardship or financial barriers
  • Perseverance through personal or educational challenges
